Does a domain's page rank count when i'm link building on one of it's pages that's not ranked?

I'm link building for SEO by posting on a forum with a domain page rank of 3, but the pages that I'm able to post on are not ranked. Will my links still be given higher authority, since the domain they are on is ranked?
