My 2005 Ford Focus will not shift to overdrive?

Also sometimes slips out of thrid gear. Changed filter and flushed fluid. No fix. I get the flashing O/D off light indicating PCM reading a failure. Trying to save money and not pay shop to hook up computer, or buying sensors or shift solenoids that wont fix it. Anyone know of this problem that knows what to change? Thanks
