How to put pictures on vivitar SD 2GB?

I had purchased my mother a kodak digital picture frame which has collected dust for several months I just realized it requires an SD chip comprised of the material desired to view...inserted a vivitar SD 2 GB chip in my hp laptop having trouble transferring photos to it...any suggestions..I am computer incompetent so please give definitive instructions(sorry) is this the wrong chip for the job? anything helps. Thank You
