Can i dye my hair at home with well water?

I have naturally dirty blonde hair, but i love red hair. like a Burgundy color. i've had my hair dyed like that for about eight months and it always fades quickly into a bry orange and my roots look bad, causing me to dye it more frequently. dying your hair at a salon isn't cheap. i want to dye my hair at home, but i am inexperienced and i have well water. Will my well water affect the way my hair takes to the dye and what dye i best? I could also use advice.
