Ramadan: A (long) question regarding the People of the Book?

In answer to the question, I have always felt that it refers to those amongst the People of the Book who were never truly informed of the message of Islam perhaps due to Geographical location or not having ever got an opportunity to learn what Islam is, as such perhaps it may be that Allah through his mercy will forgive such due to their ignorance of Islam and the fact that they held on as best as they could to belief in one true and unique Creator and God even if they knew not that He was called Allah
