We have a bird that is always hanging around our deck. Would like to know what kind of bird it is?

It is always alone. It is about the size of my hand. It is gray with black feathers on his head and a large tail feather that tilts upwards. We live in southern chester county outside of Philadelphia, Pa. Any suggestions?
