What is a really unique/interesting motive for multiple murders? (fiction novel)?

What would be a really good motive for a murderer? I got a character list of around 30, one is a killer and I am still just brainstorming what different motives there could be. most of the 30 will die throughout the book. Love, revenge, etc. Any details could help me come up with something. Thanks.
